What information does NPM collect?
Most data NPM collects are used only to help us
to serve our member more effectively. It is our general policy to
collect and store only personal information that our members and
visitors knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will
notify all users by a special announcement on the NPM web site.
From General Users. NPM does not collect any personal
information from users browsing our web site. Users to the public
areas of the NPM web site browse anonymously. Only aggregate data,
such as the number of hits per page, are collected. Aggregate data
are used only for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide
personally identifying information.
From NPM Members, Program Registrants, and Other
Customers. A limited amount of personal information may be submitted
to NPM through membership applications, program registrations, or
orders for subscriptions, publications, and other goods and services.
These data may include name, membership number, organization name,
home and parish addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail
addresses.
How does NPM use data collected?
NPM uses information voluntarily submitted by members
and other customers in the following ways.
NPM Member Services and Products. Generally, NPM
uses data collected to improve its own web content; to respond to
visitors’ interests, needs and preferences; and to develop
new products and services.
Disclosures to Third Parties. NPM makes available
DMMD and Mus Ed member contact information only to the members of
those divisions through their password-protected online directories.
On occasion, NPM may also provide limited data to third parties
that offer products and services. These limited data include names,
job titles, parish or other organization, and home or parish addresses,
but do not include phone numbers, fax numbers or e-mail addresses.
Users may request NPM to refrain from disclosing the data it collects
to third parties by sending an e-mail request to haley@npm.org
or by sending a letter to the NPM Membership Director, 962 Wayne
Ave., Suite 210, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
Credit Card Account Information. NPM does not disclose
credit card account information provided by its members and customers.
When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards,
NPM submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate
clearinghouse.
Does NPM use cookies?
NPM does not use cookies in the collection of data from members
or other users of its web site.
What privacy issues arise with links to other sites?
This web site contains links to other web sites.
NPM has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies
or content of such sites.
What means of redress are available?
If any user suspects the NPM has handled its personal
information in a manner that does not comply with this privacy statement,
