The Standing Committee for Military Musicians is providing a training module in liturgical music ministry PowerPoint format which may be adapted for:

• Orientation for new music directors
• Orientation for music directors/accompanists from non-Catholic faith traditions
• Recurrent music minister training

This training module makes extensive use of quotes from the liturgical documents. This was done for several reasons:

• These documents are beautifully written and inspiring but many music directors and ministers are totally unaware that they exist
• They provide the essential context for why we do what we do - and why it is so important
• It provides references for further inquiry.

All 4 primary references can be found in The Liturgy Documents: A Parish Resource, published by Liturgy Training Publications (1 800 933-1800). All except "Liturgical Music Today" are available for free download.
