The readings for Trinity Sunday in the C Cycle seem to focus on the role of the Spirit as the pre-existing wisdom of God (a role also assigned, in Christian thought, to the Son), the one who makes God's love flow into our hearts, and the one who speaks divine truth.
Proverbs 8:22–31. Wisdom is God's companion from before the creation. Besides being creative, wisdom is also playful, finding “delight in the human race.”
Psalm of the Day: Ps 8
This hymn of praise sings about God as the creator. The “son of man” crowned with glory and honor may originally have been a reference to the king.
