Choir Directors: Be sure to check the suggestions in the Choral

the seasons, Sundays, and feasts. This material was prepared by

These recommendations are based on suggestions by Dr. J. Michael
McMahon that appeared originally in Celebration: An
Ecumenical Worship Resource.
Resources
Many parishes use worship aids that are replaced seasonally or
annually, such as the Paluch/World Library Missalette,
Liturgical Press's Celebrating the Mass, or OCP's Today's
Missal, Breaking Bread and the supplementary Music Issue,
or similar Spanish aids. Since the content of these changes from
issue to issue, and the reference numbers for music change accordingly,
we cannot include specific number references for those publications
in this list. However, we have retained those code references
here, but without a number, as an indication that the particular
selection has appeared in at least one past issue of these resources.
If you see a piece of music that is so referenced, check out the
current issue to see if it is there; if not, check the list to
see if it is contained in one of the hymnals published by the
companies that produce these seasonal worship aids.

Note: Even as this list is being compiled, in addition to the annual editions of worship aids such as the Music Issue, Breaking Bread, and Word and Song, there are two or more editions circulating of several major resources: Gather Comprehensive (1994 and 2005), We Celebrate (current edition 2011), Flor y Canto (1989 and 2001), Journeysongs (1994 and 2003), and Glory and Praise Comprehensive Edition (1987) and Glory and Praise second edition (1997). We have tried to reference the most recent edition of these resources in each year of the three-year cycle, but there may be some overlap with prior editions. So if you do not find a particular reference in one edition, check the index: It may be listed at another number or it may be in another edition of the resource you are using. Please note: There are several new hymnals appearing in the fall of 2011. We will add the appropriate references for these hymnals as soon as we can.
