How to Apply for a Grant from the NPM Hurricane Assistance Fund
The NPM Hurricane Assistance Fund aids U.S. Catholic parishes, schools, and other institutions and the pastoral musicians of those parishes in providing for the liturgical musical needs of their communities by repair of damaged items or replacement of lost items due to the hurricanes of 2005.
To apply for a grant from the NPM Hurricane Assistance, please write a letter that includes the following:
- the full name and address of the parish, school, or other institution;
- the names and contact information for the pastor or administrator and for the primary pastoral musician;
- a description of the parish, including the number of members;
- a description of the parish need and/or economic circumstances;
- a description of the musical need for which funds are being sought, which may include hymnals, printed music, musical instruments, or musical equipment;
- amount requested.
The letter must be signed by either the pastor or the primary pastoral musician. Please send your letter to NPM Hurricane Assistance, 962 Wayne Avenue, Suite 210, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
Grants may range from $500 to $2,000, depending on the need of the community and availability of funds. We would like to support every request, but funds are unfortunately limited. Recommendations regarding grant requests will be made by advisory committee members Sr. Mary Jo Quinn, scl and Dr. Marie Kremer.
